With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Barbara Bean.  She was born to Clifton and Geneva Bean on November 11, 1962 and left this world on February 16, 2025.

Barbara joins in loving memory, her parents, sister, Brenda Joyce, and brother, Charles Michael. She is survived by her loving brother, Clifton Morgan Bean, his wife Kathryn and their children as well as her niece Deserax. She was a devoted mother to daughter Tonia Mitchell, and her husband, Brandon Mitchell, of Elkhart, Texas, and her daughter Elizabeth Starr, and her husband, Jared Womack. Her greatest joy was being a grandmother to Elijah, David, Jade-Lynn, Alexis, Xander, and Kiera. She also leaves behind a cherished extended family and countless dear friends.

Barbara was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose kindness and warmth touched everyone she met. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, sharing laughs with friends, and greeting everyone with a smile. She found peace sitting outside on her bench, waving to neighbors and strangers alike—because to Barbara, there was no such thing as a stranger.

Visitation will be on Saturday February 22, 2025 from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm at McCoy Funeral Home, 501 W Oak St, Palestine, Texas 75801.

The graveside service will be at Strongs Memorial Cemetery, 4272 SH-294, Elkhart, TX 75839 on Sunday, February 23, 2025 at 2:30 pm (use this address as it will say you were there when you're on the bridge. The cemetery is right past the bridge on the right.)  Family and friends are invited to gather after the graveside service at The Mitchell residence in Elkhart, Texas, to celebrate Barbara's life and the love she shared.
